Club managers and key staff gathered in Bendigo and Caulfield recently as CCV hosted its latest Micro-Conferences, designed to equip clubs with the knowledge, tools, and connections to thrive in an ever-evolving environment.

The Micro-Conferences brought together experts from across the sector, offering a unique platform for club professionals to exchange ideas, gain practical insights, and network with peers. From emerging hospitality trends to the growing influence of AI, attendees walked away with fresh perspectives and actionable strategies to apply within their own venues.

A key highlight came from Hostplus, who introduced the new MetLife 360 Platform, an innovative system designed to support workforce wellbeing, available to all Hostplus members. The session underscored the importance of investing in staff health and well-being across the industry.

Steve Sidd from Catering HQ delved into the latest trends shaping the hospitality landscape, sharing practical ways clubs can build stronger customer loyalty through their food offerings. He also highlighted the importance of community engagement in developing a food strategy that truly resonates with members and guests.

Annette Verhoeff from Thrive Hospitality explored how Artificial Intelligence can transform daily operations, not only by streamlining workflows and improving efficiency, but also by helping safeguard clubs against emerging risks.

Rounding out the people-focused themes, Jackie Booth from Jackie Booth Consulting led a compelling discussion on managing stress and preventing burnout, an issue increasingly relevant in today’s fast-paced club environment.

The conference concluded with DNS presenting on strategic planning, encouraging clubs to take a long-term view by mapping out their vision and setting achievable goals to ensure future success.

Across both locations, the Micro-Conferences once again demonstrated CCV’s commitment to supporting the club industry through education, innovation, and collaboration – ensuring Victorian clubs remain resilient and forward-thinking in a rapidly changing landscape. Looking ahead, CCV plans to expand the Micro-Conference program to reach more regional areas, giving even more clubs access to industry-leading insights and expert speakers relevant to their operations.
