Each year the Frankston RSL provides over two hundred and fifty thousand dollars in cash in Community Support to local Community Clubs and organisations.

After such a wonderful inaugural Giving Day in 2025, Frankston RSL was honoured on Monday 23rd February 2026, to host its second Community Support Giving Day Event and the 45 recipients of the Community Support Program, including Sporting Clubs, Community Clubs and Organisations, Charities and not-for-profits.

The Frankston RSL takes its place as a pillar of the community earnestly and proudly. Community collaboration is more than just a part of its business; it is woven into the very fabric of who they are and how the continued support of Community Clubs enables Sub-Branches such as Frankston RSL, continue to operate and support the greater goal of supporting Veterans and their Families.

Giving Day has become a highlight of the venue’s event calendar, offering an optimal networking opportunity and platform to champion community support, leadership, and community connections.

The Frankston RSL Vision is:
• Connecting the veteran community with services and camaraderie.
• Connecting communities.
• Connecting the broader community with experiences through customer first hospitality.

Brett Rowlands, General Manager of Frankston RSL said it is in a unique position to connect, unite and bring together the great Frankston Community, and the purpose of the Giving Day event is about building connections. The club witnessed amazing connections built on the night in 2025 that led into some wonderful initiatives, such as the donation drive between Frankston District Netball Association (FDNA) and Mums Supporting Families In Need (MSFIN).

“Our commitment to the community is best explained through our community support program. As a proud community hub, Frankston RSL actively supports local initiatives, contributing over $250,000 annually in supporting 25+ local sporting groups and over 30 not-for-profit groups.

“Our vision is what drives our Committee, Management and Staff, and through our Giving Day and Community Support Program we want to connect and give back to our veterans and our community.”

“Frankston RSL is in a unique position to help connect the Frankston community. The objective of Giving Day is to bring all the recipients of our Community Support Fund together and celebrate the relationship we have with each of our recipients.”

“In addition, it is an opportunity to showcase the wide array of services that we as a venue, and the Community Groups and Organisations, offer the Community. “

“The Annual Community Support Giving Day provides an enviable opportunity for recipients to network in an informal setting and work towards building deeper relationships, form new partnerships, meet new individuals and committees, as well as enable the continued growth of our great Community Network.”
“Attendance at the Giving Day Event is crucial for the ongoing development and building of relationships of our wonderful community network.”

Vice President of Frankston RSL and Chair of our Community Support Committee, Mr John Barry said, “We’re proud to once again host this essential event, shining a light on the contributions being made by all the volunteers and organisers of local clubs and organisations across the Frankston area. It’s a privilege to act as catalyst in connecting community groups and strengthening community ties within the social and economic fabric of our community.”

Chief Operations Officer, Victorian Branch of the Returned Services League, Mr Clint Brewster congratulated Frankston RSL on their long-standing initiative and reflected on the significance and impact of the program.

Mr Clint Brewster said, “On behalf of RSL Victoria, I extend my congratulations to Frankston RSL on this generous and well-intended program, which highlights their leadership, and passion to support the broader community”.

Acting Manager of Community Strengthening, Frankston City Council, Mr Chritsian Martinu said, “In a time when many clubs continue to face operational challenges, it’s more important than ever to celebrate the dedication, resilience, and positive impact of community clubs and their incredible staff and volunteers.”

Ms Shea Watts and Ms Cindy Smith, representing ‘Team Sports 4 All’ (teamsports4all.com.au), the newest recipient to join the Community Support Fund, also spoke, and was elated to be welcomed to the program and look forward to networking with the many local sporting clubs and connecting financially disadvantaged boys and girls, and their families, into their local sporting communities using the power of team sport. They cover fees, uniforms and gear, but just as importantly, provide wraparound support that helps them stay in the game, and truly belong.
