Werribee Football Club’s Generous Donation DELETED
Valued CCV member the Werribee Football Club has gone above and beyond to donate $5000 to the Werribee Hospital Foundation for specialist medical equipment.
Leanne Down, chief executive of the Werribee Hospital Foundation, said the organisation was “extremely thankful” for the generous donation, which was used to help purchase a Glideslope for the Paediatrics and Special Care Nursery at Werribee Mercy Hospital. A Glideslope is a video laryngoscope that can provide clear vison of the airway to help intubate a patient to assist their breathing in critical situations.
Mark Penaluna, Werribee Footballs Club’s chief executive, said “The club is committed to supporting local groups and organisations and it’s fantastic to be able to give a donation to the Werribee Hospital Foundation.”
He also reflected on how taxing the last few years have been for community services, commenting “[We] know how much they’ve contributed to the area for such a long time and obviously how tough [it was for] hospital and staff, particularly the last three years during the covid pandemic.”
His motto – “It’s a bit of a circular thing, what you put in is what you get out” – is one all our community clubs can relate to.
